In 2013, while living in Nigeria with my family, my mother started a project consisting of painting a Nigerian elementary school situated in Makoko village in Lagos. Interested by documentary photography, I was invited by the group of painters to take photographs of the children studying at the school. These photographs eventually got published in a book entitled "Le Nigéria traditionnel et moderne" for which my pictures received the special price.
Even after having lived in Nigeria for 7 years, this was the first time I was exposed to this kind of life. The whole atmosphere made me travel into their world, an unknown life to us, Europeans.
